Minnesota Disorderly Conduct Attorney
Minnesota has a disorderly conduct law that makes it a crime to disturb the peace. It is often used as “catch-all” crime.
Law enforcement may make an arrest for disorderly conduct if a person is behaving in a disruptive manner – even if he or she does not pose immediate harm to others. Disorderly conduct is a misdemeanor.

In Minnesota, disorderly conduct may be described as any behavior similar to the following:
- Engaging in brawling or fighting;
- Disturbing a lawful assembly or meeting; or
- Engaging in offensive, obscene, abusive, boisterous, or noisy conduct or in offensive, obscene, or abusive language tending reasonably to arouse alarm, anger, or resentment in others.
Conduct similar to this, caused by an epileptic seizure, does not constitute disorderly conduct.
Some might think that because disorderly conduct is a misdemeanor offense that the repercussions are not serious. However, even a misdemeanor may result in a defendant facing up to 90 days in jail, and a significant fine. Make sure you avoid imprisonment, and keep your criminal record clean, by exercising your right to counsel as early as possible.
